On the 30th of November, 2024, twenty students across different schools in Nigeria assembled at the MTN Head quarters in Lagos state to participate at the grand finale of the MTN mpulse spelling bee competition.
The 20 students were all finalists of the MTN spelling bee 2024 from a crop of well over 30,000 students who participated in the competition from the Entry Stage.

At the end of the fiercely contested competition, Ikenna Ikechukwu of Glorious covenant school, Rivers State emerged as champion after seeing off a close competitor, Ayomide Ibigbemi who settled for 2nd position.
Munachimso Opara of the Lagoon Secondary School, Lekki, Lagos took the 3rd place prize.
Ikenna Ikechukwu gave the correct spelling of the word “Cornucopia” in the timed-round to clinch the victory and Ultimately make him the winner of the MTN Spelling bee 2024 and also makes him an MTN CEO for a day. He spelt the word the winning word in six seconds.
